Hello World! After a long hiatus the time has arrived to once again reboot a web presence for distribution of my published and unpublished work, both academic and mere items of personal interest. After a number of years of sequential geographic moves for professional reasons, I have finally settled long enough to reestablish my library and a writing space. And so I present Rhetorica Christiana.
The purpose of this site is several fold:
- To distribute some of my historical work such as translations I made back as far as the late 1980s. Many of these are Lutheran German from 19th century “Early Missouri” or 16th century Latin theological works primary from Luther.
- To distribute some of my academic papers or similar research created during the course of my masters and PhD work from 1994 to 2003.
- To distribute new works of various types such as essays or other papers.
- To promote or share language skills and experience which is unfortunately all too rare in the church today, including the appreciation for the skill and art of the rhetorica especially in Latin.
- To combine these academic interests with my personal and professional interests in engineering and science and the history of science in interesting ways.
- And finally, to articulate and apply experience from the study of these varied topics to our contemporary world and society as it seems useful in order to counter the consensus conviction experienced in the world around us that these things are surely useless.
And so I dedicate Rhetorica Christiana to Dei gloriae et ecclesiae Christi beneficiis.
